117 Bags First Class as University of Ibadan Graduates 5,598 Students

University Of Ibadan, UI convocation ceremony and 68th foundation day programme of events: 117 Bagged First Class as University of Ibadan Graduates 5,598 Students. A total of 5,598 students received their first degree certificates during the Convocation ceremony of the University of Ibadan (UI) which took place on Monday, 14th November, 2016.

Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Idowu Olayinka, said that 117 of the graduating made First Class Honours.

Speaking further on the results, the VC said that 1,407 graduands came out with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) while 3,020 made Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Another 666 made Third Class Honours and 74 others got Passes with 314 in the Unclassified Degree category.

According to Olayinka, 13 out of the 117 First class graduands, were from the Faculty of Arts; 25 from the Faculty of Science, while one each emerged from the Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences and Public Health.
