Delta Poly Student Arrested for Fake Facebook Account

Social media can lead you to trouble if you are not careful,news reaching us today stated that A Mechanical Engineering student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, whose name is Emmanuel Otu,has being arrested by the police for operating a fake Facebook account.

The suspect was alleged to have set up a
profile to impersonate the national leader
of the All Progressive Congress (APC),
Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in order to
extort money from the public.

He was arrested by men of the Special Anti-
Robbery Squad (SARS) from Lagos who
traced him to his hostel in Ozoro on
Sunday, May 10, 2015.

The 19 year-old suspected fraudster created
a Facebook page in the name of Asiwaju
Bola Ahmed Tinubu and used it to defraud
unsuspecting but obviously gullible persons.
According to the Lagos Police, the
undergraduate student, through the
Facebook page claimed to be arranging jobs
and contracts for his would be victims with
some of the oil majors operating in Nigeria.

He will be charged to court after a thorough
investigation by the police.
